Thea Uppal heads West Coast strategy out of San Francisco for the U.S.-India Business Council, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the world’s largest business association. USIBC aims to create an inclusive bilateral trade environment between India and the United States. By serving as the voice of industry, the council links governments to businesses and stakeholder platforms, and supports long-term commercial partnerships that nurtures entrepreneurship, creates jobs, and helps our members consciously contribute to the global economy. With offices in Delhi and Mumbai in India and regional offices in the US, USIBC works on both the national and subnational relationships. Always focused on investment and policy agendas important to companies in the western U.S., Thea currently serves as Director for Renewables on the Energy & Environment Committee, Director on the Media & Entertainment Committee and leads USIBC’s Fintech & Payment Platform Initiative (FPP).
